deep east
Okay, to be honest it’s been a bit quiet and dusty in here recently. Now here is a little update on what has been and what is going on behind the scenes.
A couple of weeks ago I was involved in an accident. I took away injuries on both arms, which will take until the beginning of next year to recover.
Unfortunately this makes it impossible to continue with any ongoing projects such as my beloved “60-second slices of present” that I usually need to carry around a heavy bunch of equipment for.
Further Christian Reister of Fenster 61 gave me the great opportunity to show my work monotony at the gallery in Berlin. Unfortunately the accident made me cancel this show, too. But then again the good news is, it is only a pleasure deferred. I take the time to develop a neat presentation concept for the images and stay very much looking forward to the show.
Inspite of wearing a pair of bulky arm bracers I started to develop skills to handle my little Sony Nex 5. So I started to photograph Eastern German rural landscapes at the onset of winter. It’s an ongoing series I will be doing for the time of my recovery. I gave it the working title “deep east”. Perhaps it is not as conceptual a series as I usually develop them, but one I enjoy doing very much.
Furthermore I will use my time to compile and edit another one or two series that I have finished photographing this year and put them online in the next couple of days.
So far.
So good.
Stay tuned.

Robert… wow! Sorry to hear about the accident. Look after yourself and do like the doctor asks. Don’t push your luck. Looking forward to the new work.
best of the Season, Happy/Merry.. cheers Jan Normandale
Thanks a lot, Jan. In fact pushing my luck seems to be the best way to cope with this awkward situation. ^^
All the best to you, too.
